Abstract:
[Purposes] This paper aims to introduce the publishing and spreading situation of virtual issues in scientific journals and summarize the organizing strategies, thereby advancing the reform of the knowledge service mode of scientific journals. [Methods] Through the information search method, we investigated the subject classification, topic selection, number of papers, collection period, forms and channels for promotion, monographic paper downloads, and cited frequencies of virtual issues from international academic publishers and Chinese scientific journals' cluster platforms. [Findings] Virtual issues covered a wide range of disciplines, and the downloads and citation frequency of the papers were higher than those of the non-virtual issue papers published at the same time. Virtual issue topics included academic hot spots, high-impact authors, high-impact scientific institutions, important funding projects, and so on. Virtual issues were mainly published through the internet. The publishing forms of virtual issues were divided into the graphic type and the rich-media type. In the future, big data, cloud computing, virtual reality, artificial intelligence, and new think tank of scientific journals will promote the rapid development of virtual issues. [Conclusions] Virtual issues can conduct in-depth knowledge mining and provide systematic knowledge services for the whole process of scientific research according to the needs of users and combined with the characteristics of journals. Virtual issue is a beneficial exploration for the integrated publication and precise knowledge service of scientific journals.

【目的】 介绍科技期刊虚拟专题刊发及传播情况,总结科技期刊组织虚拟专题的策略,推进科技期刊知识服务模式变革。【方法】 通过信息搜索法调研国际学术出版商和中国科技期刊集群平台刊发虚拟专题的学科分类、选题方向、收录论文数量、收录周期、传播推广形式及渠道、专题论文下载量和被引频次等。【结果】 虚拟专题覆盖的学科范围较广,论文的下载量和被引频次高于同期出版的非专题论文。虚拟专题按选题方向可划分为学术热点类、高影响力作者类、高影响力科研机构类、重大基金项目类等;刊发渠道主要为网络渠道,传播模式包括图文型虚拟专题传播模式和富媒体型虚拟专题传播模式。未来,大数据、云计算、虚拟现实、人工智能及科技期刊新型智库建设将共同推动虚拟专题的高速发展。【结论】 虚拟专题能够按照用户的需求并结合刊物特色优势进行深度知识挖掘、提供面向科研全过程的系统化知识服务,是科技期刊出版融合发展、推进精准知识服务的有益探索。
