Abstract:

[Purposes] Keyword indexing is closely related to the standardization and retrieval efficiency of academic journals. This paper analyzes the requirements of SCIE-indexed horticulture journals for English keyword indexing and the status quo, which is expected to provide references for improving the English indexing quality.[Methods] The requirements for keyword indexing in "Guide for Authors" of 36 horticulture journals indexed by Journal Citation Reports (JCR) in 2021 were investigated. Meanwhile, 30 articles published between 2020 and 2022 in journals with specific requirements for keywords were randomly selected and the qualified rate of keywords was analyzed. [Findings] For 34 journals with keywords, 58.8% did not indicate whether keywords could be selected from the title and 70.6% did not specify the ranking rules of keywords. In addition, 94.1% failed to provide thesaurus for keyword selection. The indexing requirements of the journals were overall simple and generalized. The qualified rate of the investigated keywords ranged from 6.7% to 100.0%. [Conclusions] The requirements of SCIE-indexed horticulture journals for keyword indexing are indistinct and inconsistent, and efforts should be made to standardize the indexing.

【目的】 关键词标引质量会影响学术期刊的规范化水平和文献的检索率。调查园艺类SCIE(Science Citation Index Expanded)期刊英文关键词的标引要求和现状,为提高英文关键词标引质量提供参考。【方法】 以2021年版《期刊引证报告》(Journal Citation Reports,JCR)中36种园艺类期刊为研究对象,查找并分析期刊“投稿须知”中对关键词标引的具体要求,随机抽取要求明确的期刊在2020—2022年刊登的30篇文章,统计关键词标引合格率。【结果】 设有关键词的34种期刊中,58.8%未规定用词能否与文章标题重合,70.6%未明确排序规则,94.1%未提供参考主题词表。各刊关键词标引的要求各异,但普遍简单笼统,刊文的关键词标引合格率为6.7%~100.0%。【结论】 园艺类SCIE期刊关键词标引要求笼统且不一致,应重视关键词规范化标引。
