国内外生命科学领域代表性期刊发文热点及学者构成分析

Research fronts and researchers of top journals in life sciences published in China and abroad: A comparative study based on visualization technique

摘要:

【目的】 对国内外生命科学领域17种代表性英文科技期刊进行大数据可视化比对分析,为中国科技期刊建设提供参考。【方法】 采用文本聚类分析、文献检索与统计分析、内容调研分析、描述性统计分析及可视化分析等方法,多视角比较我国生命科学领域多个学科分类中英文科技期刊与国外对标期刊之间的差距,如前沿热点跟踪、热点作者追踪,以及其他文献计量学等方面的客观表现差异。【结果】 国外期刊的总体优势大于国内对应期刊,但国内期刊正在逐步缩小与国外期刊的差距。ESI数据库前沿热点研究中美国占比最高,但呈逐年下降趋势;中国的占比正在不断上升,并在植物和动物学科领域中赶上美国。17种期刊中国外期刊的作者国际化程度并不都高于对应的国内期刊,有的国内期刊的作者国际化程度也比较高,尤其是Cellular & Molecular Immunology。国外各刊的核心作者国家来源都是美国居首,国内各刊的核心作者国家来源都是中国居首。【结论】 我国生命科学领域的科研实力在某些细分领域追赶上美国,因此国内英文科技期刊需要逐步加大发文体量或是培育新刊以适应国内科研成果的发表需求,吸引正在外流的国内高水平稿件。国内期刊在发文策略上需要进一步明确,在紧跟科研热点与前沿的同时也要突出自己的宗旨和范畴,稳扎稳打、逐步发展。国内期刊要不断发展和培育核心作者,才能源源不断地获得高水平稿件。

Abstract:

[Purposes] This paper aims to comparatively study the 17 top journals in life sciences published in China and abroad with big data visualization, thus providing references for the construction of Chinese scientific journals. [Methods] We analyzed the bibliometric indicators of articles published in 17 international journals from 2012 to 2021. Some parameters, such as research fronts, core researchers, and other bibliometric indicators were used for text clustering analysis, literature retrieval and statistical analysis, content analysis, descriptive statistical analysis, and visualization analysis. [Findings] Foreign journals are superior to domestic journals in general, but the gap is narrowing in recent years. Research fronts of Biology & Biochemistry, Immunology, and Molecular Biology & Genetics in Essential Science Indicators (ESI) database created by researchers from the USA is much more than China, but the performances in Plant & Animal Sciences of China and the USA is almost comparable. Domestic journals Cell Research, Cellular & Molecular Immunology, and Molecular Plant are more international than several foreign journals, especially Cellular & Molecular Immunology. The core authors of foreign journals are most from the USA, while those of domestic journals are most from China. [Conclusions] Chinese scientific research capabilities in the life sciences has caught up with the USA in some fields. High-quality service for academics related to scientific journals is urgently needed for the rapid development of scientific research in China. We suggest such strategies as improving the quantity of existing journals and launching new journals to attract and retain excellent domestic works. Domestic journals should focus on both hot spots and scopes in topic selection, and try to cultivate their own core authors to get steady contributions continuously.
