Academic influence and social influence of international preprints in 2022

摘要:

【目的】 了解国际预印本发展情况,为中国预印本发展提供决策依据。【方法】 以Web of Science平台集成的预印本数据库为基础,以arXiv、bioRxiv、medRxiv、ChemRxiv、Preprints等主要平台发布预印本为数据来源,构建学术影响力、社会影响力指标模型,分析国际国内预印本发展态势及影响力。【结果】 2022年国际主要平台发布预印本总量为175408篇,主要集中在数学、计算机科学人工智能、物理粒子场等领域,获得较多学术引用和社会影响。按照第一作者国别统计,2022年中国预印本总量为19109篇,集中在计算机科学软件工程、数学、计算机科学人工智能等领域。【结论】 预印本已成为科学交流的有效载体,中国预印本规模和学术影响力均快速增长。建议完善预印本发布与引用政策、推行负责任预印本科学传播、利用科技评价引导预印本发展,为提升我国预印本影响力提供支撑。

Abstract:

[Purposes] This paper analyzes the development of the international preprints to provide suggestions for the management of preprints in China. [Methods] Based on the preprint database integrated on Web of Science platform and using preprints on major platforms such as arXiv, bioRxiv, medRxiv, ChemRxiv, and Preprints as data sources, we constructed an indicator model for academic and social influence, and analyzed the development trend and influence of international and domestic preprints. [Findings] In 2022, the total number of preprints released by major international platforms is 175408, mainly concentrated in fields such as mathematics, computer science-artificial intelligence, and physical particle fields, receiving significant academic citations and social influence. According to the country of the first author, the total number of Chinese preprints in 2022 is 19109, concentrated in the fields of computer science-software engineering, mathematics, and computer science-artificial intelligence. [Conclusions] Preprints have become an effective channel for scientific exchanges, and the scale and academic impact of Chinese preprints are growing rapidly. It is recommended to improve preprint publication and citation policies, promote responsible preprint science communication, and guide the development of preprints by scientific assessment, so as to provide support for enhancing the influence of preprints in China.
