Abstract:

[Purposes]The aim of this study is to investigate the relationships between academic misconduct papers and authors'affiliations, authors'titles, authors'educational backgrounds.[Methods] The classification statistics of the 3032 papers including 34 academicmisconduct papers was conducted based on the affiliation, the professional title, the educational background of their first authors.[Findings] The proportion of the academic misconduct papers of authors from “985 Project” universities, “211 Project” universities as well as Chinese Academy of Sciences is the lowest, the proportion from the survey, design and construction units is the highest, and the ratio of the academic misconduct papers from the general colleges/universities and the professional institutes is located between the aforesaid two.The authors with the associate senior professional title/intermediate professional title producemore academic misconduct papers than those with senior professional titles or primary technical job titles, especially those who work for the professional institutes or the survey, design and construction units. The number of academic misconduct papers by authors with higher degrees isn't less than that of the authors with lower degrees.[Conclusions] The more attention should be paid to thesemanuscripts submitted by these authors from survey, design and construction affiliations; especially themanuscripts of the authors with associate or intermediate professional titles should be strictly reviewed. It isn't realistic to curb the academic misconduct by author for their own moral accomplishment.Related criterion or legislation should be drawn up to eradicate the academic misconduct.
