Abstract:

[Purposes] This paper aims to reveal the phenomenon of duplicate publication by the large-scale objective literatures. [Methods] We adopted the statistical method to analyze the distribution characteristics of the CNKI-indexed papers published repeatedly from 1994 to 2014 in the macroeconomic management and sustainable development field. [Findings] The phenomenon of duplicate publication in this field is on an upward trend. Most of the duplications are published twice, and the time difference of 94.35% of duplicate papers is less than one year. The condition of duplications published in the same journal is serious. Authors submit a paper to different journals simultaneously or successively because of contribution eagerness. The authors with the higher title are more prone to publish their papers repeatedly. [Conclusions] To resolve the issue of duplicate publication, the review system should be improved, and journals should jointly establish a submission system with the function of preventing duplicate papers.
