[Purposes] This paper aims to study the development of Chinese scientific journals in recent years.[Methods]According to Chinese S&T Journal Citation Reports（expanded edition） from 2007 to 2013, the changes in China'smajor average scientific journalsmeasuring indicators were studied, and compared w ith the indicators of core journals from 2008 to 2013 in the previous study.[Findings] The average ratio of papers published abroad, the total frequency of being cited, and the distribution number of institutions increased a lot, while the average impact factor, the other-citing rate, the number of authors and regional distribution changed little.Grow th trends of some indicators were unstable. For example, the impact factor, the ratio of papers published abroad, the immediacy index and the ratio of funded papers reached the second highest in 2010 and then decreased substantially.Compared w ith the averagemain indicators of core journals, the impact factor and the immediacy index both had less grow th,but the amount of published literature sources of expanded journals wasmuch higher than that of core journals.China's added scientific papers were published mainly in the non-core journals.[Conclusions] Chinese scientific journalsmove forward as a whole, and aremore attractive for overseas authors, but the quality of their development is not high.
