Abstract:

[Purposes] This study aims to investigate the correlation between non-cited paper rate and journal evaluation indicators in neurology core journals. [Methods] We calculated the non-cited paper rate of 19 core journals of neurology in 2012, and analyzed the correlation between non-cited paper rate and composite impact factor, composite immediacy index, citing half-life, cited half-life, ratio of fund article, subject diffusion index, and discipline influence index. [Findings] The results of linear correlation analysis show that non-cited paper rate is positively correlated to citing half-life, but it is negatively correlated to ratio of fund article and subject diffusion index. There is no correlation between non-cited paper rate and composite impact factor, composite immediacy index, cited half-life, and discipline influence index. [Conclusions] The non-cited paper rate is correlated to citing half-life, ratio of fund article, and subject diffusion index. The number of non-cited papers might be decreased with the improvement of the academic quality, academic influence of journals, and the innovation and academic quality of the papers.
