Abstract:

[Purposes] This paper aims to explore the intelligent development path for Chinese scientific journals by analyzing the demand for artificial intelligence (AI) technology in scientific journals and its practical applications. [Methods] The applications and demand for AI technology in domestic scientific journals were analyzed by questionnaire surveys and interviews. Meanwhile, the potential integration of large language models and scientific journal publishing using ChatGPT 4.0 as an example in practical applications was demonstrated first, and AI tools involved in the journal publishing were summarized via network research. [Findings] Editing and typesetting are the central issues of editors, and AI technology applications are more popular in scientific integrity review. Additionally, editors have high demands for AI tools. ChatGPT 4.0 has the application potential in scientific journal publishing. [Conclusions] The integration of AI into Chinese scientific journals requires innovative ecological layouts, deeper application scenarios, and technological innovation and publishing mode upgrade driven by specific demands and scenarios. It is equally important to be mindful of technological limitations and safeguard the scientific ecosystem. Moreover, it is crucial to uphold the content quality in academic journals and push forward high-quality journal development by technology.

【目的】 通过对人工智能技术在科技期刊中的需求分析及应用实践,探索国内科技期刊的智能化发展之路。【方法】 通过问卷调研和访谈的方法对人工智能技术在国内科技期刊中的应用情况及需求进行分析。以ChatGPT 4.0为例进行应用实践,探索大语言模型与科技期刊出版的融合应用潜力。通过网络调研,汇总期刊出版涉及的人工智能工具。【结果】 编校和排版是编辑关注的焦点,科研诚信审查较多应用人工智能技术,编辑对人工智能工具有高需求。ChatGPT 4.0在科技期刊出版中具备应用潜力。【结论】 在与人工智能融合方面,我国科技期刊需要创新生态布局,深化应用场景,以需求和场景驱动技术创新和出版模式升级;同时需要注意把握技术边界,守护科学生态;坚持以内容质量为核心,以技术赋能期刊高质量发展。
