摘要:
目的 探讨在全球化、数字化的学术竞争生态中,在以英语为主导的语境下,中文顶级学术期刊基于自身特色和学术沉淀,发挥资源优势,寻求影响力提升和期刊可持续发展道路,并论证其对《金属学报》影响力提升与品牌塑造的决定性意义,以期为同类期刊的战略创新提供理论参考与实践镜鉴。 方法 基于《金属学报》70年发展的历史沉淀,主编团队亲自谋划,编辑部于2025年前瞻性首创《名家经典》栏目,邀请金属材料领域著名学者亲自对其代表作或经典工作进行深度凝练、回溯与前瞻。通过深入剖析其作为一项期刊发展核心战略的生成逻辑与实践路径,系统阐述了该栏目“邀约指定、稿源高端、身份独特、内容深化”的顶层设计,详细论证了其在实施过程中应对“名家邀约”与“内容同质化”挑战的策略,并分析了该栏目文章的下载量、引用情况,以及微信推送的阅读量和转发量,并与当年发表文章的情况进行对比。 结果 《名家经典》栏目通过“汇聚名家、凝练经典、塑造品牌、引领未来”四位一体的作用机制,对期刊影响力提升和期刊发展带来了积极作用。与同年刊登文章相比,《名家经典》栏目论文下载量远超篇均下载量,引用次数大部分大于篇均引用次数,微信公众号阅读量和转发量均远超相应平均值。 结论 在当前期刊发展态势下,中文期刊通过不断更新发展思路,立足于本土学术土壤,深入挖掘自身优势资源,可实现期刊高质量可持续发展。《名家经典》栏目的设立不仅是《金属学报》办刊举措的一次革命性飞跃,该栏目也将成为期刊发展的核心战略价值,能够为中文科技期刊探索高质量、特色化发展道路提供可资借鉴的战略范式。

Abstract:
Purposes This study explores pathways for enhancing the influence and achieving sustainable development of top-tier Chinese academic journals based on their unique strengths and resources within the globalized and digital academic competitive landscape, particularly under the dominant context of English, demonstrating its decisive significance in enhancing the influence and brand building of Acta Metallurgica Sinica, with the aim of providing theoretical reference and practical insights for the strategic innovation of similar journals. Methods Building on the 70-year legacy of Acta Metallurgica Sinica, the editorial board, under the direct guidance of the editor-in-chief, pioneered the Classic of the master column in 2025. This initiative strategically invites renowned scholars in the field of metallic materials to deeply refine, retrospectively analyze, and prospectively discuss their representative or classic work. This study provides an in-depth analysis of the column’s conceptual logic and practical implementation as a core journal development strategy. It systematically elaborates on the column’s top-level design, characterized by “invitation-only contributions, high-end authorship, unique author perspectives, and in-depth content”. The study also details the strategies employed to overcome challenges such as “securing commitments from leading scholars” and “avoiding content homogenization”. This study analyzes the download counts and citation rates of articles in this column, as well as the readership and forwarding volumes of their corresponding WeChat promotions, and comparing these metrics with those of articles published in the same year. Findings The Classic of the master column integrated fourfold mechanism—“gathering masters, refining classics, building the brand, and leading future research”—and its positive impact on the journal’s influence and development. Compared with articles published in the same year, the papers in this column have far exceeded the average download count per article, with most of them receiving more citations than the average per article. Moreover, the readership and forwarding volumes on the WeChat public account have also significantly surpassed the corresponding averages. Conclusions Amid the current trends in journal development, Chinese-language journals can achieve high-quality and sustainable growth by continuously updating their development strategies, grounding themselves in local academic foundations, and deeply exploring their own advantageous resources. The establishment of the Classic of the master column represents not only a revolutionary leap in the publishing practices of Acta Metallurgica Sinica but also embodies core strategic value for the journal’s growth. It provides a strategic model worthy of reference for other Chinese scientific journals exploring paths to high-quality and distinctive development.
