Abstract:

[Purposes] This paper aims to explore the users' needs and the satisfaction evaluation of the functional service in academic journals websites. [Methods] We analyzed the users' needs of academic journals websites by using the Kano model investigation method. According to the results of the survey,we analyzed the functional classification of websites. We evaluated the importance of functional items by using the quadrant analysis and calculating the Better-Worse index of each function item. [Findings] Among 26 functional factors, only the journals and editorial department profile is the basic needs of users; five factors can be classified as the charismatic demand,10 as the expected demand, and the remaining can be classified as the demand with no difference. [Conclusions] According to the functional requirements of attributes and prioritization, academic journals websites should be combined with requirements of the digital age, track the change direction of users' demand types, and excavate the subdivision function of websites deeply. Unremitting efforts should be made to optimize the design and improve the dissemination and the user experience of academic journals websites.
