Abstract:

[Purposes] As the framework of scientific research, disciplinary classification plays an important role in the development of science. We study the relationship between the secondary disciplines belonging to natural science of CLC using objective computerised scientometrics, this study then gives some revises to the existing classification system so as to better adapt to the development of journal classification.[Methods] Taking the CSCD database as our data source, this article studies the relationship of disciplines based on the coupling strength among journals.[Findings] Then we try to set up an improved disciplinary classification system using clustermethods.Further,in order to identify and interpret the rationality of this improved system,we make use of some textmining methods such as key words recognition, topic detection.[Conclusions] Our study shows that the disciplinary classification constructed in this article based on journal-based coupling is up to the present development of journals and discipline.
