Abstract: [Purposes] This paper aims to analyze the personal information features of authors who employ ghost-written and ghost-submitted papers and the characteristics of their papers in the field of agricultural journals, and provide reference for journal editors to timely and accurately ide.pngy and prevent such papers. [Methods] By checking the registration IP address of the authors of 847 articles of Guangdong Agricultural Sciences from January to October in 2018, we analyzed the registration information of the suspicious authors and the characteristics of the papers, and tracked their duplicate submission and later publication through the ALMC and CNKI database. [Findings] The IP addresses of the authors in 40 papers are all from Guilin, Guangxi, which are inconsistent with the author locations and belong to suspicious ghost-written and ghost-submitted papers; the registered emails are in the form of "letter+number@163.com", and the login passwords are set the same; the same contact information is for different authors; the research contents are all themed in the agricultural economy; there are signatures of the same college and same school as well as unreal fund projects; and there are 22 papers suspected of plagiarism with duplication rate higher than 40%. [Conclusions] It is recommended that journal editors check the author's login IP address when registering contribution papers, take the initiative to prevent academic misconduct, set up barriers to ghost-submitted papers in the publishing process, and pay attention to the supply of author's original data and detailed process; comprehensive agricultural journals should pay attention to agricultural economic contributions in particular.
