Abstract:

[Purposes] This paper aims to study correction notice characteristic of Chinese scientific journals, so as to provide a reference for promoting the high-quality development of journals and purifying academic environment. [Methods] This study studied 448 correction notices from 143 Chinese scientific journals between 2020 and 2022. Five factors were taken into account, including inclusion ratio, correction time lag, correction reasons, download and citation, and severity of errors. A total of 484 articles were analyzed. [Findings] The inclusion ratio of correction notices on CNKI, Wanfang, and journal official websites is not high except VIP. On average, corrections are published 256 days after the original article. The main types of corrected errors are author information, funds information, and figures. 91.5% of corrected errors are not major. [Conclusions] The subject liability?of?88.4%?article correction?is the author, and strengthening author self-check can significantly reduce errors in the article. Journals can generate a reverse-driven effect through standard and columnized correction systems and should prevent improper correction. Chinese journal databases should improve the discoverability and traceability of the correction, promote the inclusion of correction notices, and make them available to the public.

【目的】 了解中文科技期刊的论文更正特征，为期刊高质量发展和净化学术环境提供参考。【方法】 对2020—2022年发布在143种中文科技期刊上的448条论文更正进行统计，从收录情况、更正时滞、更正原因、下载及引用情况、错误严重程度等方面进行分析，共涉及484篇论文。【结果】 除维普数据库，论文及更正被知网、万方和期刊官网收录的比例都不高。更正平均时滞为256天。常见的错误主要出现在作者信息、基金信息和插图等方面。91.5%的论文更正的是轻微或较小错误。【结论】 88.4%的论文更正责任主体是作者，加强自校就能大幅减少差错。期刊可通过更正规范、栏目化的制度产生倒逼效应，同时应拒绝不合理的更正。中文数据库要提高更正的易见性与可回溯性，加大对更正的收录力度并开放获取。
