Construction of cross-disciplinary special topics in medical journals of comprehensive universities in the context of new medical education: A case study of five medical journals in comprehensive universities

Abstract:

[Purposes] The concept of the new medical education put forward by the Ministry of Education points out a new direction for the construction of comprehensive medical special topics. The paper studies the construction of cross-disciplinary special topics in medical journals of five comprehensive universities in China and analyzes their influences and causes, so as to provide references for the specialized development of medical journals of other comprehensive universities. [Methods] Through the information search method, we investigated the situation of cross-disciplinary special topics set up by medical journals of comprehensive universities, such as the direction and preference of topics, the number of downloads and cited frequency of special topic papers, and corresponding WeChat official account transmission strategies. [Findings] The special topics of medical journals of comprehensive universities focus on the reporting of cross-disciplinary research results in the field of new medical education, which has a positive effect on the construction of new medical education, but the influence of the articles published in the cross-disciplinary special topics is not absolutely dominant compared with other articles in the journals. New media communication is mainly one-way communication, and some journals have more novel operation strategies. [Conclusions] Factors such as the direction of topic planning of cross-disciplinary special topics of medical journals of comprehensive universities, publication time, article selection, authorship, and dissemination strategy are all important factors affecting the influence of articles. Comprehensive university medical journals should focus on the cutting edge in special topic settings to achieve differentiated development. At the same time, they should actively improve the editorial service capacity and explore the transmission path by new public media in combination with the content of the new medical special topics.

摘要:

【目的】 教育部提出新医科教育,为综合性医学期刊专题建设开启新的方向及思路。研究国内5所综合性大学医学期刊的交叉学科专题建设现状,分析其影响力及成因,为其他综合性大学医学期刊特色化发展提供借鉴参考。【方法】通过信息搜索法调研综合性大学医学期刊所设置的新兴交叉学科专题情况,如专题选题方向及偏好、专题论文下载量与被引频次,及其匹配的微信公众号传播策略等。【结果】综合性大学医学期刊的专题注重报道新医科教育方向的交叉学科研究成果,对新医科的学科建设有很好的推动作用,但交叉学科专题所刊发的文章相较于刊物内其他文章,影响力并不占有绝对优势。新媒体传播以单向传播为主,部分期刊的运营策略较为新颖。【结论】综合性大学医学期刊交叉学科专题的选题策划方向、刊发时间、文章选题颗粒度、文章作者、传播策略等都是文章影响力的重要影响因素。综合性大学医学期刊应在专题设置上立足前沿,实现差异化发展。同时,应积极提升编辑服务能力,结合新医科专业专题内容探索新媒体宣传之路。
