利用InCites新功能Citation Topics助力学术期刊编辑制定选题策划方案——以园艺学科研究领域为例

How does InCites Benchmarking & Analytics TM Citation Topics facilitate topic selection?—Taking horticulture research as an example

摘要:

【目的】 通过分析WoS数据库中大量文献,为科技期刊编辑在选题策划时提供全局视角,制定更高效、精准的选题策划方案。 【方法】 利用InCites数据库新功能——Citation Topics(引文主题),对63种常见园艺作物近5年相关文献的发文国家(地区)、微观主题、研究人员、研究机构、高影响力期刊等进行分析。 【结果】 在园艺研究领域,中国的WoS论文数、总被引频次和高被引论文数均排名世界第一;多个微观主题如抗氧化活性、果实硬度和盐胁迫的WoS论文数、总被引频次和高被引论文数等评价指标名列前茅,说明这些微观主题是全球学者以园艺作物为研究对象时所关注的热点研究;WoS论文数和总被引频次全球排名Top15的学者中国有11位,Top15的科研机构中国有7个。 【结论】 InCites数据库新功能Citation Topics可以对研究主题、人员、组织机构、国家/地区等进行更精细的分析,有助于科技期刊编辑更高效地梳理热点研究并制定选题方案。

Abstract:

[Purposes] This paper analyzes the articles indexed by WoS, aiming to provide a holistic perspective for editors of scientific journals in topic selection and formulate efficient and accurate topic selection plans. [Methods] Via the Citation Topics of InCites, we investigated the author nationalities, micro-topics, researchers, research institutes, and high-quality journals of articles on 63 common horticultural plants which were published in SCI-indexed journals in 2016-2020. [Findings] In horticulture, the number and total cites of papers and number of highly-cited papers in WoS from China all rank the first in the world. Antioxidant activity, fruit firmness, and salt stress are the deemed as the global hot topics, as manifested by the high-ranking evaluation indexes of related papers in WoS such as the number of papers, total cites, and number of highly-cited papers. Among the top 15 scholars in the number of papers and total cites, 11 are from China, and 7 out of the top 15 research institutes belong to China. [Conclusions] With this new three-level document-based Citation Topic schema, editors can gain a clearer insight into the topics, researchers, research institutes, and author nationalities of a certain research direction, thus efficiently sorting out the hot topics for topic selection.
