Mechanism for citation process of academic journals

摘要:

【目的】 探究学术期刊被引过程的机制。【方法】 应用数理统计方法分析《河南师范大学学报(自然科学版)》2010—2014年文献被引指标的动态分布。应用统计物理的随机动力学方法建立数学模型,并对学术期刊被引过程进行数值模拟。【结果】 总结《河南师范大学学报(自然科学版)》被引规律。建立了相应的数学模型。数值模拟结果与实际数据相符。用数学模型计算了期刊影响因子的正常波动区间。【结论】 将统计物理思想应用于文献计量学的方法是可行且有效的。

Abstract:

[Purposes] This study aims to discover the mechanism for the citation process of the academic journal. [Methods] The citation frequencies of articles published in Journal of Henan Normal University (Natural Science Edition) are analyzed by mathematical statistics. A mathematical model based on stochastic dynamics is established and the citation process is simulated numerically. [Findings] The mechanism of the citation process of Journal of Henan Normal University (Natural Science Edition) is concluded, and its mathematical model is proposed. The numerical simulation results are consistent with the real data, and the normal fluctuation interval of journal impact factor is estimated with the model. [Conclusions] It is feasible and effective to apply the idea of statistical physics to bibliometrics.
