Hotspots and frontier trends of research on international science communication journals

Abstract

Abstract:

[Purposes] By analyzing the hotspots and frontier trends of research on authoritative international science communication journals in 2020-2022, this paper grasps the hot concerns, problem characteristics, and coping paths in the practice of international science communication and provides a reference for the development of Chinese science communication journals and the construction of Chinese-style and modern science popularization theories. [Methods] R and CiteSpace softwares were used to conduct bibliometric analysis on the papers of Science Communication and Public Understanding of Science extracted from the Web of Science and Scopus databases. According to the text analysis of the Journal of Science Communication, research hotspots of international science communication journals were explained. [Findings] From 2020 to 2022, international science communication research focuses on the theory and practice of citizen participation in science communication and attaches importance to the reflective practice research on science communication under the background of diversity, locality, and cutting-edge technology. [Conclusions] Research in the field of international science communication tends to be more diverse, inclusive, reflective, and responsible. Chinese science communication journals urgently need to strengthen international exchanges and mutual learning on the basis of domestic development, so as to promote the scientific transformation of the communication mode and construct a Chinese-style and modern science popularization theory and practice system.

摘要： 【目的】 通过对2020—2022年国际科学传播权威期刊的研究热点与前沿趋向分析,把握国际科学传播实践中的热点关切、问题特征与应对路径,为中国科学传播期刊发展与中国式现代化的科普理论构建提供参考。【方法】 利用R、CiteSpace软件对Web of Science、Scopus数据库中析出的《科学传播》《公众理解科学》论文进行文献计量分析,并结合《科学传播期刊》文本分析开展国际科学传播期刊研究热点阐释。【结果】 2020—2022年,国际科学传播研究热点聚焦在公众参与科学传播的理论与实践,并重视多元性、地方性与前沿性技术背景下的科学传播反思性实践研究。【结论】 国际科学传播领域趋向于更多元、更包容、更反思、更负责任的价值立场,中国科学传播期刊亟需在立足国内发展需要基础上加强国际交流与互鉴,以促进科学传播模式转变,推动构建中国式现代化的科普理论与实践体系。
