Abstract:

[Purposes] This paper investigates the "integration of editing and research" among academic journals and analyzes the feasible paths, which is expected to boost the scientific research and competence of academic journal editors. [Methods] Through questionnaire survey and case analysis, we probed into the status quo of the "integration of editing and research" among academic journal editors, the favorable conditions, and the unfavorable conditions. In addition, another questionnaire was designed to investigate the willingness of scholars to participate in the editing of academic journals. Four typical editorial offices of academic journals and two editors were selected as examples for the deep analysis of the feasibility of the integration. [Findings] (1) Most academic journal editors have participated in scientific research and the majority has recognized the necessity of scientific research. However, more efforts should be made to enhance the research. As for the favorable conditions for the integration, many a respondent claimed that scientific research was beneficial to the editing and their self-development, and many editors thought interest was the major driver of the research. The heavy workload and limited spare time are the major culprits that restrict the research, followed by the lack of professionals. (2) About half of the scholars want to be part-time editors of journals. (3) The support of supervisors and organizers can promote the integration. [Conclusions] It is necessary and feasible to integrate scientific research in academic journals. Efforts should be made by supervisors and organizers to support the scientific research of editors and editors themselves should make full use of favorable conditions for the research. In addition, journals should encourage scholars to join the editorial team, so as to enhance the integration.

【目的】 调研学术期刊“编研一体”的现状,分析其实现路径,为提高学术期刊编辑的“编研一体”水平和工作素养提供借鉴。【方法】 采用问卷调查法和案例分析法,对学术期刊编辑“编研一体”的现状、促进因素、制约因素等方面进行问卷调查,对学者参与学术期刊编辑工作的意愿进行问卷调查;选取4个典型的学术期刊编辑部和2名编辑代表,从单位层面和个人层面进行“编研一体”可行性的深度分析。【结果】 (1)大部分学术期刊编辑对科研活动有所涉及,已经意识到参与科学研究的必要性,但参与的深度不够。学术期刊编辑参与“编研一体”的促进因素主要是工作性质和个人自身发展所需,以及自身喜爱科研工作;工作量和工作时间成为最重要的制约因素,排名第二的制约因素是缺乏专业人士的指导。(2)半数左右的学者有兴趣从事兼职期刊编辑工作。(3)主管主办单位的支持对于编辑实现“编研一体”具有重要影响。【结论】 “编研一体”具有现实需求和可行性,实现路径主要有:主管主办单位给予多方位的支持;编辑发挥主观能动性,借助主管主办单位和自身的优势和特点,找准研究方向,积极开展研究工作;鼓励学者加入编辑队伍,扩大“编研一体”的队伍。
