Abstract:
[Purposes] This paper aims to explore the method of establishing a scientific and rigorous editorial board selection mode for English academic journals, especially for animal journals. [Methods] Taking Asian Herpetological Research (AHR) as an example, based on Web of Science database, we analyzed the characteristics of authors, organizations, and sources in the relative research field using VOSviewer visual bibliometric software. [Findings] According to the current situation of AHR, we propose an innovative selection system for editorial board members, which will allow us to search editorial board candidates all over the world. [Conclusions] Compared to the traditional recommendation system, this innovative selection system based on the big data can effectively break the solidified editorial board recommendation method, activate the editorial board-centered work, enhance the attractiveness of journals to excellent manuscript sources, and consequently improve the international influence of English academic journals.

【目的】 探讨英文学术期刊,特别是动物类学术期刊建立科学严谨的编委遴选模式的方法。【方法】 以《亚洲两栖爬行动物研究》为例,基于Web of Science数据库的底层数据,利用VOSviewer可视化文献分析软件,深入分析相关学科领域的作者群、研究机构以及竞争期刊的特点。【结果】 针对期刊的实际发展情况,建立全球范围内挖掘、遴选潜在编委的新模式。【结论】 以大数据为基础,建立新的编委遴选模式,将打破期刊固化的编委推荐方式,活化以编委会为中心的组稿工作,提升期刊对优秀稿源的吸引力,进而提升期刊的国际影响力。
