摘要： 从科学技术的迅速发展、科技期刊面临的机遇与挑战、党和国家工作重心的转移以及跨世纪编辑人才的培养等多视角、多层次考察分析，论证了科技期刊主编在办刊工作中应树立的宏观意识。在科技革命日新月异的形势下，科技期刊主编的工作千头万绪，尤为重要的是审时度势，纵览全局，除了应具备编辑所具有的一切素质之外，更需有竞争意识、信息意识、服务意识、效益意识和超越意识。

Chinese Journal of Scientific and Technical Periodicals, 1998,9(2):69～71 The view that the editors-in-chief of academic periodicals should hold macroscopic awareness in editing was demonstrated on basis of rapid development of science and technology, opportunities and challengesacademic periodicals have, transfer of the focal point of the nation's work and trainning of editing talentstowards the twenty-first century. It was proposed that the editors-in-chief should hold the awareness ofcompetition, information, service, benefit and surpassing which were collectively called "macroscopicawareness" to make a correct assessment of the situation and grasp the overall situation from thousands oftasks on their hands as well as master the skills necessary for editing under the circumstance of rapiddevelopment of science and techonology.
