Abstract:

[Purposes] This paper aims to analyze the correlation between F1000 score and bibliometric parameters(total citation and impact factor).[Methods] Published articles aboutmedical informatics and diabetesmellituswhich were recommended in F1000 in 2010 were retrieved.F1000 score, total citation and impact factor(IF)were exacted.Spearman rank correlation analysis was used to analyze the correlation between F1000 score and total citation aswell as F1000 score and IF in the new retrieval and computing mode.[Findings] 259 articles aboutmedical informatics and 169 articles about diabetesmellitus were published and recommended in 2010.There were a low positive correlation between F1000 score and total citation as well as F1000 score and IF(P <0.01).[Conclusions] There is a positive correlation between F1000 and bibliometric parameters to a certain degree. However, there are lim itations in both F1000 and bibliometric parameters, which should be combined to evaluate articles.
