我国物理类期刊数据结构化生产现状调研

Status quo of data structuring in physics journals in China

摘要:

【目的】 聚焦我国物理类科技期刊数据生产模式,了解期刊数据结构化生产现状,总结归纳制约期刊进行结构化数据生产流程再造的相关因素,为我国期刊加快向数字化生产转型提供参考。【方法】 以我国物理类期刊为调查对象,通过设计调查问卷,调查期刊数据生产模式,重点考察期刊对于XML结构化数据生产平台的使用情况、存在的问题及改进建议。【结果】 目前我国物理类期刊有三种数据生产模式:源数据XML结构化生产、传统排版软件排版后对数据进行XML结构化加工、传统排版软件排版,三种模式的期刊数占比相当;期刊借助XML结构化数据主要实现了论文的多形式发布、单篇优先出版和期刊数据的统计分析等,对于数据重组再利用的知识服务实践不足;期刊对于国内XML技术公司提供的服务满意度较高,对XML结构化生产缺乏认识以及担心转换生产模式需要较高的时间成本是制约期刊进行生产流程再造的主要因素。【结论】 我国物理类期刊目前处在数据生产模式转型阶段,期刊和国内XML技术公司应共同努力,尽早实现期刊的XML结构化生产流程再造,以适应数字出版的需要。

Abstract:

[Purposes] In this paper, we describe the data production modes of physics journals in China, and thereby analyze the status quo of data structuring in such journals and the limiting factors, hoping to provide a reference for digital transformation of Chinese journals. [Methods] Taking the physics journals in China as an example, we designed a questionnaire to investigate the data production mode, particularly the application of the data structuring tool XML, the problems, and suggestions. [Findings] Three data production modes are used in physics journals in China: structuring of source data with XML, conventional typesetting before XML structuring, and only conventional typesetting, with little difference in proportion among journals. XML allows multi-form publication of papers, advance publication of single paper, and convenient statistics and analysis of journal data. However, the structured data-based knowledge services are rarely seen. Journals are satisfied with the XML data structuring of technology companies. The lack of knowledge on XML structuring and the concern about the time-intensiveness of the conversion are the main limiting factors. [Conclusions] At the moment, physics journals in China are seeking the reform of data production mode. Joint efforts should be made by journals and domestic XML technology companies to realize early XML structuring of journals and further the digital publishing.
