(Journal Evaluation Index Based on Impact Factor and Theil Index,简称为JIF-T指标)。

Abstract: [Purposes] In order to make up for the deficiency of citation data dispersion measurement in evaluating journal academic influence, this paper establishes the new evaluation index of journal academic influence, which is journal evaluation index based on impact factor and Theil index (JIF-T index). [Methods] From JCR, we retrieved the JIF and citation data of 100 journals in 5 subjects, and calculated the citation dispersion of subject journals respectively. Then we evaluated the journal academic influence using the JIF-T index, explored their change rule, and compared it with JIF and SNIP. [Findings] The JIF-T index takes into account the quantity of published papers, the total citation frequency, and the divergence of citation, which makes the evaluation result more distinguishable and sensitive. [Conclusions] The JIF-T index is suitable for evaluating the journal academic influence within disciplines and provides a new pathway for the evaluation of journals.
