Abstract:

[Purposes] This paper aims to explore the distribution law of the review number of reviewers of scientific journals sponsored by universities, and propose optimization measures and suggestions based on the characteristics of reviewers. [Methods] The reviewer's review data (as of 2018-05-20) was obtained from the journal website to explore the rules. At the same time, we referenced some of the results of the questionnaire survey to propose construction measures for targeted reviewer team. [Finding] The review with the highest number of reviewers is in compliance with the Pareto's principle, and the reviewers with a small review number have the typical long tail characteristics. The top 20% of the reviewers have shorter review process and fewer review deadlines. [Conclusions] We should adopt different maintenance measures for reviewer groups with different characteristics to optimize the reviewer team and improve the quality of review.
